Because we have limited vault space, we allow customers 2 weeks from date of call or voicemail, to pick-up their transfer. We do allow longer hold times on case by case basis. Any longer times, not agreed upon, will require a $25 a week storage fee. If after twenty-eight (28) days from C&S contacting you (or if no contact with the customer is established), and you have failed to pick up your firearm, we will sell your firearm(s) to recoup storage fees.
If the customer receives a “Deny” response from NICS or is unable to take possession of the firearm for any reason, it is the customer’s responsibility to arrange return to the original seller. If arrangements are not made within 90 days, the firearm will become property of C&S Shooting Sports.

Navigating the process of transferring a firearm involves understanding specific legal requirements and documentation. C&S Shooting Sports ensures that all transfers adhere to federal and state regulations, including the crucial National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). This process is designed to prevent firearms from falling into the wrong hands and maintains the integrity of firearm ownership.
Key requirements for a firearm transfer typically include a valid government-issued photo ID, completion of ATF Form 4473, and successful completion of a NICS background check. For individuals aged 18-20, there are enhanced background check procedures in place due to recent legislative changes, ensuring a thorough review before a transfer can be approved.
As a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL), C&S Shooting Sports plays a vital role in facilitating legal firearm transactions. Whether you are purchasing a firearm online, receiving one as a gift, or transferring ownership to another individual, C&S provides a secure and compliant channel to complete the process. Their expertise ensures that all paperwork is correctly filed and background checks are meticulously processed.
To initiate a firearm transfer, C&S Shooting Sports requires the sender to provide their FFL information, which can be emailed to info@csshootingsports.com. This step is crucial for establishing a legitimate chain of custody and ensuring that the firearm originates from a licensed dealer, thereby upholding legal firearm commerce.
The transfer of National Firearms Act (NFA) items, such as suppressors, short-barreled rifles, and machine guns, involves a more complex process than standard firearm transfers. These items require additional federal registration and a longer waiting period, often involving fingerprinting and a more extensive background investigation through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
C&S Shooting Sports is equipped to handle the intricate requirements for NFA item transfers, ensuring compliance with all ATF regulations. While standard firearm transfers have specific fees, NFA item transfers may incur different pricing structures due to the added administrative and federal processing involved. It is advisable to contact C&S directly for detailed information on NFA transfer fees and timelines.
To manage inventory efficiently and maintain operational capacity, C&S Shooting Sports has established a clear policy regarding the storage of transferred firearms. Customers are allotted a specific timeframe to pick up their firearms after being notified that the transfer is complete and ready for collection.
Following notification, customers have two weeks to retrieve their firearm. If a pickup extends beyond this period without prior agreement, a weekly storage fee of $25 will be applied. Firearms not collected within twenty-eight (28) days of C&S's notification, or if no customer contact can be established, may be subject to sale by C&S Shooting Sports to recoup accumulated storage fees.
